This is the kind of peripheral I like - install the drivers from the provided CD, plug the camera into the USB port and off it goes!I use the Webcam 3 as part of a two camera set-up when travelling to keep in touch with home and its one of the few products that has consistently performed wihout letting me down. The provided software is reliable without being outstanding and the picture quality (at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480) doesnt breakdown or pixelate. Its difficult to rate one cam above another - most of the products in this price range are pretty similar in quality and features but the WebCam 3 fares well against the handful I have used.

Despite the system requirements stating that Windows 98 or 2000 is needed, the WebCam 3 works perfectly in Linux. Having already configured the kernel for USB, I just plugged in the camera and it was immediately recognised and when I ran xawtv a good quality live image was displayed on the screen.
